The Importance of Gas Safety in HVAC - 550 Words
The Importance of Gas Safety in HVAC (Research Paper Sample) Content: Name:Instructor:Course:Date: The importance of gas safety in HVACHeating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) is accountable for 39 % of the energy consumption in the United States. Using high performance HVAC equipment can result in an energy emission and cost savings of about 10-14 % (Chapter 12: Heating, Air Conditioning, and Ventilating).HVAC refers to three disciplines namely; heating, ventilating and Air-Conditioning. The fourth discipline, Controls, is distributed among the other disciplines. Control is concerned with the customizations applied for any of the three to meet its goals for comfort, safety and low operational costs (Chapter 12: Heating, Air Conditioning, and Ventilating).Heating is accomplished through either, heating the air within the air spaces or through radiation heating that involves heating the participants directly. Ventilating deals with maintaining an adequate amount of gases in the air, freshens the air to help keep the participants productive. It can be achieved naturally or through use of such devices as fans. The last discipline, air-conditioning, refers to the control of air temperatures and humidity in a room. This is done either by transfer of heat in between spaces or by filtering air from outside. This can be done by dehumidifying the air through absorption (High-Performance HVAC).Deploying high performance HVAC is very important as it can result in momentous energy savings of up to 39% annually in terms of energy consumption. There are numerous ways in which the HVAC systems are important which include: Energy savings: the U.S department of Energy approximates a 25 to 40 percent of energy loss while heating or cooling. initially, HVAC system may seem costlier to install than regular systems. The benefits of the HVAC system are seen in the long term usage of the HVAC systems. It combines both heating and cooling in a single unit which saves the installation fees as well as the required power usage. HVAC systems are run by renewable energy which in addition to its friendly nature to the environment is also cheaper in the long run deployment (High-Performance HVAC). Air quality: Indoor air quality is usually worse than outdoor air quality mainly because of the limited circulation of air in a room compared to the outside. This slow process of purifying the air inside the house can cause colds to linger and airborne allergies be more severe. A HVAC system is very important in improving the air quality by constantly replacing the air inside the house with fresh air from outside (High-Performance HVAC). Humidity: Even when one lives in a region with drastic climatic changes, their houses are prone to retain some moisture. Due to the low rate of circulation of air inside the house, your house m...
